Spice enters TN

Spice Ltd, a group company of M Corp Global, India's leading transnational group with a $ 250 million turnover, has announced the launch of Spice mobile phones in Tamil Nadu, after successful launches in West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, HP, J&K, Western and Eastern UP and Rajasthan.

With a strong lineage in the cellular services industry in India, M Corp Global is expanding its business horizon and is all set to revolutionise the 'ICE' (information communication & entertainment) sector, with its new-age technologically advanced state-of-the-art mobile phones for the entry, mid & premium segment, said Kunal Ahooja, CEO, in Chennai recently.

In addition to expanding its existing presence in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, HP, Western & Eastern UP and J&K, Spice Ltd. plans to fortify its position in south India by setting up a strong local distribution network in Tamil Nadu. Spice Ltd is launching four models - S 500 'Stylish & sleek monochrome phone with speaker', S 404, a 'Phone with powerful memory and stunning looks', S 555, a True Tone True colour GPRS phone and S 600, '65000 Color GPRS phone with Kool MP3 player', - in Tamil Nadu. In due course, Spice will come up with a full range of mobile phones offering differentiated features and value to customers in all market segments.

After covering the entire north India & east India, the company will extend the availability of Spice handsets to southern and western parts of the country. With the increasing tele-density, Spice Ltd plans to focus on building its brand nationwide and expanding their reach along with the expansion of telecom operators to smaller and mid-sized towns in India, Kunal said.

Kunal added, "The penetration of cellular networks into SEC B, C, D and E markets are on the increase at an exponential rate which in turn is fuelling demand of entry-level mobile handsets into the semi-urban and rural areas. Taking the trend forward, we are strategically expanding our sales and marketing coverage in India and as a step to widen our national reach we are now launching Spice mobiles in Tamil Nadu with a clear focus on the tier II & III markets. It is our primary objective to redefine value even at the entry level segment and build Spice as an aspirational brand for the masses."

Speaking on the occasion, K Muzaffar, Head-Sales, said, "As part of our endeavour and strategy to widen our distribution network, Spice Ltd will cover 1,400 outlets in 30 districts of Tamil Nadu through a model of one regional distributor and district-wise micro-distributors. We will have a strong network of retailers in Tamil Nadu. Also to provide world-class support to our customers, we have already set up a customer service centre in Chennai, under the brand name, 'afterSpice', which will ensure superior quality service. We would focus on building a strong supply and support infrastructure, leading to the expansion of business and eventually resulting in becoming the 'Mobile Champion' in India'."

With a clear business structure and strategic marketing initiatives, Spice Ltd aims to attain the position of No 1 Indian mobile phone brand, he said, adding that Priyanka Chopra, brand ambassador for Spice Mobiles, a leading Bollywood actress and Miss World 2000, launched the range of Spice mobile phones in New Delhi recently.

Spice Limited, is a part of M Corp Global a $ 250 million group, headed by Dr B K Modi. Spice is a prestigious high-technology company with a strong reputation as a supplier of quality hardware, software and information technology solutions coupled with world-class, after-sales support. The company provides system integration solutions as well as has strategic alliances with industry leaders like IBM, Acer, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Novel, D-Link, Accton. The company continues to have an exclusive arrangement with Olivetti Technost Spa of Italy, to sell and support their products in the SAARC region.
